Come join our team of dedicated professionals and help support a learning community of over 40,000 students, faculty and staff across three campusesAbout the RoleReporting to the Director Occupational Health & Trades Safety, and in collaboration with the Program Managers in Occupational Health and Trades Safety, the Occupational Health and Trades Safety (OHTS) Coordinator EHS, coordinates occupational health and safety training for SFU staff, faculty and students. The incumbent is responsible for assisting Program Managers with developing course content and training materials, maintaining training records, coordinating registration, equipment and facilities; coordinating with external training providers, as required; administering and marking tests; and responding to queries about training. The incumbent assists Program Managers with contractor safety management. The OHTS Coordinator coordinates and delivers contractor safety orientations, ensures contractor safety checklists are completed and the associated documentation is provided in a timely manner. The OHTS Coordinator assists Program Managers with conducting risk assessments for IAQ, mold, asbestos, lead and other hazardous building materials, as defined by WorkSafe BC and SFU Exposure Control Plans and prepares technical reports outlining the results and provides recommendations for controlling exposures.QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety, or Engineering and two years related experience including experience in indoor air quality systems and trades safety in a consulting, municipal, or educational setting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
