OHS Regional Manager

Recruitment Partners Inc. is on the search for an OHS Regional Manager seeking to join our valued client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall development, co-ordination, and maintenance of the HSE Management System and ensure that all Personnel and Subcontractors are in full compliance with the Health and Safety Plan. Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Maintain knowledge of current developments in the H&S field, revisions to occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice in all districts in which the candidate is overseeing
• Organize and administer site orientations, inspections, audits, and joint work site health and safety meetings which are in accordance to company policies and legislations
• Maintenance on specialized safety equipment and PPE such as gas monitors, AED\xe2\x80\x99s and fall protection
• Ensure that department and company are meeting all legislative standards and updates across all provinces of operation
• Provide support to business development during project reviews, proposals and pre-qualifications
• Guide in preventing incidents and accidents by investigating and analyzing incidents to distinguish cause and needed action for prevention
• Demonstrate ideal behaviors, mindset, and attitude to promote and create a superior safety culture and to ensure continued, sustainable growth
• Obtain insurance documents as required for Professional certifications and associations
• Develop a Site Safety Management Plan (SMP) for major projects to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and community
• Regularly audit the SMP for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with the company\xe2\x80\x99s scope and conditions
• Review all incident reports and provide advice for recommendations for prevention of future incidents
• Facilitate all incident investigations and ensure they are reported immediately
• Coordinate and manage weekly safety meetings for project groups
• Create and complete employment letter for physicals and employees
• Prepare final audit report and submit to appropriate authority for quality review

Your strengths include:

• Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma or Certificate
• CUSP/CRSP would be an asset. If you do not have both, you will be required to achieve them
• 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in leadership/ supervisory/ managing safety program
• 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in direct construction field experience
• Work in the power industry is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation for Quebec
• Must be fluent (i.e. reading, writing, speaking) in English and French
• Ability to perform under stressful conditions
• Excellent leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
