Position Number: 00028119Description:About us:The Student Residences team at Spaces & Experiences (S&E) oversees and operates undergraduate and graduate student housing for more than 2,200 students on the St. George campus. Our residences include ChestnutResidence, Oak House, Graduate House, and Knox Residence. We strive to offer a supportive and dynamic living-learning environment for students that fosters academic success, personal growth, and a strong sense of belonging.Your opportunity:Under the general direction of the Manager, Residence Admissions, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective Residence admissions process. The incumbent manages the admissions process for residence students; reviews eligibility and issues offers to prospective students; calculates student fees; manages invoicing and fee postings on StarRez; maintains the database and residents' records and statistics. Duties include but are not restricted to the provision of information concerning the Residence, the administration of admissions, room assignments, fees, student records, and meal plans.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining student andoccupancy records in StarRez database
  • Editing application process in StarRez Portal to meet department's needs
  • Reviewing and assessing student applications for admission into residence
  • Administering Residence occupancy and meal plan fees using ROSI and StarRez
  • Writing and issuing communications to prospective Residence students, including information about fees, deadlines and Residence policy
  • Responding to individual inquiries from prospective and current residents
  • Providing logistics support for Residence bookings, including Residence move in, move out, room assignments, room changes and roommate allocation
  • Contributing to marketing and communication materials, including the Residence website
  • Informing contacts of maintenance work, service interruptions and other urgent notices
  • Analyzing data and providing recommendations to improve Residence operations
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in residence admissions, operations, and/or administration.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the StarRez software or similiar student Housing Administration software
  • Advanced proficiency related to Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Analyze collected data to make recommendations to improve the admissions and housing assignment process.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, empathy, sound judgement and discretion.
  • Excellent customer service and communication (oral and written) skills, particularly with students, parents, colleagues, and campus partners.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a database, fees, residence policies, and an admissions timeline.
  • Strong understanding of issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in a higher education setting.
