Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sustainment Project Manager is responsible for the provision of project management services including control and monitoring for various mechanical, electrical, civil, and electronic system projects that include overhaul, retrofit, replacement, and decommissioning for the North Warning System (NWS) Project.

• Develops project charters, statements of work, tender packages, bid analysis reviews, and proposals for projects from conception to implementation
• Prepares complete project documents for scope definition, schedule, cost estimation, and deliverable requirements for project implementation and briefs project designs at review meetings
• Provides monitoring and control for an assigned portfolio of projects, including change control management
• Provides support during the implementation phase of projects, periodic status reporting to stakeholders, and financial projections to Accounting and the NWS Business Planner
• Completes project closeout, including close out reports and deficiency management
• Coordinates deliverable acceptance with stakeholders, customer billing, and invoice payments
• Coordinates with Engineering, Contracts, and Supply Chain to deliver in-house and subcontracted projects
• Coordinates with Life Cycle Managers to ensure documentation, training, procedures, inventory and repair plans are ready for in-service operation
• Periodically travels to NWS sites to perform implementation acceptance and commissioning
• Reports to the NWS Business Planner for performance of the Annual Project Portfolio and NWS Program deliverables

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree or diploma in Project Management, or similar relevant post-secondary education
• Demonstrated experience with implementation of technical projects and the project management body of knowledge
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management practices
• (PMP) designation is an asset
• Experience delivering projects to the Government of Canada is an asset
