Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg ON is looking for a
Staff Scheduler & Student Placement Coordinator
to join our team.
Reporting to the Administrator, as Staff Scheduler you are primarily responsible for ensuring all nursing shifts are effectively covered by preparing and organizing work schedules to make sure that the required / appropriate number of personnel is on duty in every given shift.
As Student Placement Coordinator you will be responsible for the onboarding, orientation and management of Student Placements in compliance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations and our homes' specific policies. To facilitate and manage student placements, you will act as the liaison between Maple Manor and educational institutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Scheduling
Manage and produce nursing staff schedules weekly
Perform and assist with scheduling using SSC (Staff Schedule Care) software: data entry and hour adjustments, payroll exceptions, roll nursing schedule
Become the on site "expert" of SSC (Staff Schedule Care) mobile app - assist staff with questions and app functionality
Perform call-ins as required
Consult with the Director of Care concerning staffing and scheduling needs
Keep meticulous attendance records and assist with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members demonstrate excessive absences and/or tardies
Inform nursing staff of assignments and changes to their schedules
Receive concerns from nursing staff with regards to scheduling
Take responsibility for leave requests from employees and general work time-keeping (scheduling)
Manage WSIB claims
Work with Payroll/HR to ensure appropriate employee settlement (New hire paperwork, LOA forms, Status Changes etc.)
Arranges temporary staffing when necessary
Assist with onboarding
Student Placement Coordinator
Develop new or maintain existing partnerships with colleges and universities for the successful placement of students at Maple Manor
Promote and recruit team members into a preceptor role
Liaise with LTC -home preceptors to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to support students
Coordinate the placement schedule and pair students with preceptor team members in consultation with the department Manager
Coordinate the evaluation of the student placement program in the home, including, but not limited to, preceptor and student feedback on the experience
Identify opportunities and methods to improve process for a sustainable student placement program
Inform students of available employment opportunities in the home, and participate in recruiting students to positions post-placement
Onboarding of students, including but not limited to, providing tours and introducing the students to residents and team members
Collect and process mandatory documentation required from students
Assist in developing and updating training materials and resources
Check in with new hires to ensure the placement is going well and there is no gap in their orientation
Performs other duties as required
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Human Resources, Business or administration diploma or related field, with a minimum 1 years of experience in recruiting
1 - 2 years scheduling experience mandatory
Advanced software skills are required; software scheduling experience is also an asset (SSC -Staff Schedule Care)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Meticulous records maintenance skills
Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
Strong decision making skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow
An engaging, professional and outgoing personality
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

ABOUT MAPLE MANOR
Maple Manor Nursing Home, locally owned and operated, is a long-term care facility located in the downtown core of Tillsonburg Ontario. The home is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is Accredited through the Person-Centred Long Term Care Community Standards of CARF Canada. The Home is a 101-bed, smoke free facility offering private, semi-private and ward accommodations. In addition, Maple Manor has four temporary licenses for Interim Long-Term Care Home beds through the Aging at Home program. These beds provide a location for residents who would otherwise be kept in hospital while awaiting placement into a Long-Term Care facility.
