Role Summary :
The
Employment Partnerships and Placement Coordinator
plays a key role in supporting student success by building employer partnerships, coordinating clinical placements, and facilitating employment opportunities for graduates. This position is responsible for placing students into their mandatory clinical placements and supporting graduates in securing employment in their field within six months. The role also involves employer outreach, compliance tracking, and KPI reporting.
Coordinate mandatory clinical/practicum placements for Personal Support Worker students in line with program curriculum and Ministry requirements
Ensure placements are secured before the deadline.
Liaise with long-term care homes, retirement residences, and home care agencies to arrange placements
Collect and verify all student documentation (e.g., immunizations, police checks, TB tests, WSIB forms)
Monitor student progress during placements and act as a liaison between the student, site, and faculty
2. Employer Engagement & Partnership Development
Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare employers , staffing agencies and community organizations
Actively pursue new placement sites and employment partners across Ontario
Host and participate in job fairs, recruitment events, and employer networking sessions
Negotiate placement agreements and maintain MOUs in compliance with regulatory standards
Travel to meet various employers across the region specified.
3. Career Counseling and Job Search Support
Provide one-on-one career coaching, resume and cover letter assistance, and interview preparation
Conduct workshops and seminars on career readiness and job search strategies specific to the healthcare sector
Assist Personal Support Worker graduates in securing jobs in their field within six months of graduation
4. Employment Tracking & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of student placements, graduate employment, and employer contacts
Track employment outcomes for KPI and compliance reporting
Provide regular updates to the Career Services Manager and senior administration on placement and employment metrics
Requirements :
Related Diploma or Bachelor's degree in human resources , career counselling or related discipline
Minimum 2 years of experience in Career service OR Student placement coordination , or a similar role, preferably in a private career college or healthcare setting
Previous Experience working with long-term care facilities, retirement homes, or community health organizations is considered a strong asset
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle for employer visits and site meetings (preferred but not mandatory)
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support events, job fairs, or employer meetings
