Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Registered Nurse (RN)
or
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
to join our clinical team at Freeport Recovery.
The nurse will play a key role in providing daily care, monitoring client health, administering medications, and supporting the overall therapeutic environment of the program. This is a
client-focused role
that values empathy, professionalism, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day nursing care to residents within the behavioral health and addiction recovery program.
Conduct client assessments, monitor vitals, and document health changes accurately and promptly.
Administer medications in accordance with program protocols and professional standards.
Support clients experiencing withdrawal, emotional distress, or other health-related challenges.
Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
Participate in daily team meetings and contribute to individualized care plans.
Maintain health and safety standards, infection control, and accurate clinical documentation.
Promote an environment of compassion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
Licensed as a
Registered Nurse (RN)
or
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
in good standing with the
College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare, residential, or behavioral health setting preferred.
Experience with addiction recovery, mental health, or wellness-focused care is an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
Flexible, calm, and compassionate under pressure.
Hours & Schedule
Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Day, evening and overnight shifts.
Weekend availability may be required on rotation.
