The facility has ample free parking and easy access for patients, their family and staff. There are two endoscopy procedure rooms plus one operating rooms which function as endoscopy suites. We have created a facility that is a model of excellence in endoscopy and surgical service delivery in a community-based location. TCBH's patient centered approach to healthcare provides high quality services in a friendly professional environment. Since its' inception this has given rise to improved access to care resulting in better patient outcomes.

Position Summary



Reporting to the Medical Director and Director of Operations the Nurse Practitioner will work under the direct supervision of a Physician. The candidates will support the priorities of Ontario's Patients First: Action Plan for Health Care by providing access to quality care for patients who require Consultations and Follow Ups for Endoscopy Procedures performed at TCBH Surgical Centre. Nurse Practitioner patient care duties may include:

Completing comprehensive and focused health histories Performing comprehensive and focused physical examinations Performing procedures as determined by physicians Providing counseling on health care promotion and preventive health care Serving as physician extenders for physicians Performing controlled acts as delegated by physicians Perform any other duties deemed appropriate as determined by Physician

Qualifications



Master's Degree in Nursing required Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class, NP adult preferred, or a combination of Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate and previous relevant hospital experience A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in respective clinical area required Able to prescribe controlled substances as authorized by CNO Current BLS certificate required Current ACLS certificate required Emergency experience an asset Relevant professional and specialty organization membership(s) (e.g. RNAO/NPAO, CGNA, CARN) preferred Demonstrated leadership skills within the interprofessional care team Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and to assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills Excellent assessment, planning, organizational, problem solving, communication, teaching, time management and evaluation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, families, and all members of the interprofessional team Accomplished change agent Enhanced patient-centered care practices Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and function effectively in an interdisciplinary setting Demonstrated ability for independent action, initiative, problem-solving, organization & prioritization Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to patient centered care Able to work in an active, rapidly changing environment with multiple demands Demonstrates understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures, to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

Schedule Work Hours



Weekdays/Weekends - 8 am - 4pm. Flexible Hours
