Your Opportunity:

Currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner to provides specialized care and management of clients living with chronic disease and multiple co-morbidities. The NP team consists of 3 NP\'s working collaboratively and supporting each other. Having additional education and training to provide advanced clinical skills, make critical management decisions, and facilities consistent client-centered care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with Home Care staff, attending physicians and specialists to acquire and utilize best practice, evidence and resources needed for individual situations and to adjust and optimize program delivery. The successful incumbent would participate in program committees, quality improvement programs, and may lead nursing research initiatives as well as providing education to provide mentorship to new NPs, NP students and other healthcare providers. To excel in this role, you will need good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. You must be able to work in a collaborative care setting. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate ongoing responsibility for maintaining your own continuing competence through professional development activities. Red Deer is in Central Alberta near the midpoint of the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor and is surrounded by Red Deer County. The Nurse Practitioner participates in program committees, quality improvement programs, and may lead nursing research initiatives as well as providing education to provide mentorship to new NPs, Nurse Practitioner students and other healthcare providers. Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta with a practice permit indicating appropriate stream of practice. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver\'s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel.
Additional Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of full time (or equivalent number of hours) clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner. experience required, with at least 1 of the last 3 years working with adults with chronic disease. Experience working in a community setting or long term care setting would be preferred. Experience with the development and/or implementation of evidence based practice. Experience with program development. Experience with clinical or scientific research. Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
