This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and collaborative Nurse Practitioner (NP) team providing care at both the Northeast Community Health Centre and the Strathcona Community Hospital. Both facilities offer 24/7 emergency departments and a variety of ambulatory, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging services. As a member of our NP team, you will be self-directed, provide expert evidence-based clinical care, demonstrate leadership, and be a team player. Our high functioning NP team is a supportive and engaging group, offering opportunities for mentorship, education, and research. Family All Ages NP licensure is essential for this position. Reporting to the Site Director, you will function in an MRP role, providing care to patients and their families across the lifespan in a variety of clinical settings. Settings include: Outpatient IV Therapy Clinic - a wide variety of patients are seen in this clinic, most commonly with infectious and hematologic presentations. Emergency Department Transition Clinic - in this innovative clinic, patients of all ages who would otherwise require next day follow up in the ED are reassessed and managed in the ambulatory setting. Emergency Department - as MRP, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients independently. You will also work collaboratively with physician colleagues in a team environment for complex patients. The ED NP role encompasses innovative solutions to supporting a busy ED and includes providing care in the waiting room, managing abnormal results, and supporting the unit in general with expertise and leadership.
