Your Opportunity:Based in the Arthur Child Cancer Center, this position functions as an integral member of the Palliative/End of Life Care portfolio and Palliative Care Consult Service by combining the roles of practitioner, teacher, consultant, leader, and researcher through integrating interdisciplinary clinical practice, nursing staff development and research activities. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioner will support community/outpatients with a life limiting oncological diagnosis using a holistic approach to complex physical, psychosocial, and spiritual symptoms and will work collaboratively across palliative, oncology and community teams.Description:As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.
