The Professional Practice Office is currently seeking a full-time, temporary Nurse Educator. Reporting to the Manager of Interprofessional Education and Practice and working collaboratively with the Professional Practice Office you will play a key role in contributing to quality client care for clients by supporting the professional development of clinicians as it relates to upskilling of physical health skills and clinical program educational needs. The core functions of the role will be dedicated to assessment and education of point-of-care clinicians and contribute to the development of high-performing interprofessional clinical teams. Key areas of educational focus will include comprehensive and focused physical health assessments; comprehensive psychiatric/mental health assessments; interprofessional care planning; application of best practices at the point-of-care for individual clinicians and clinical teams. You will bring your knowledge of best practices inteaching/learning for clinical staff, education development and delivery, in the care of adults with acute and complex physical and mental illnesses and comorbidities. In collaboration with other stakeholders (i.e. Hospitalists) and departments (i.e. Pharmacy; education specialists), you will also support clinicians in the application of education as it relates to the Integrated Care and the Professional Practice Office priorities, inclusive of the interpretation of clinical policies & procedures, use of the I-CARE clinical information system, and interprofessional collaboration. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position will be based at 1001 Queen Street West.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate must be an RN registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and must possess a current BCLS (CPR) certificate. Five (5) years of experience within the mental health field is essential. Specific experience with clients with severe mental health and addiction issues and/or forensic histories is considered an asset. A BN/BScN degree and computer literacy are also required. MN/MScN or other relevant Master's degree is preferred. Previous teaching experience is essential. CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing would be considered an asset. The incumbent will have demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in challenging clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behaviour, as well as effective decision-making and problem solving skills. You will be highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills to facilitate working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. You will also have the ability to foster and create a learning environment, and to motivate and challenge, and have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

This full-time, temporary (until December 5, 2025) position is a 1.0 commitment, which may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs. This position is part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
