Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the applicable Director and in collaboration with the Program Teams, the incumbent is responsible for: * Educational program development for:

• Nursing staff including R.N.s, L.P.N.s, R.P.N.s.
• Support staff including U.A.s, N.A.s, U.C.s and/or applicable technicians.
• Teaching and learning activities.
• Nursing practice standards.
• Patient education development.
• Professional and Self Development.

Note: The priority and percentages of each of the above functions will vary throughout the year and possibly from year to year.
Experience

• Must have a minimum of four years current acute ward level surgical nursing experience with demonstrated competency in Trauma, Vascular, Thoracic and Step Down or Progressive Care Unit/PACU practice.
• Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• Step Down Unit Training in surgery is preferred. If not trained, must be completed within 6 months of employment.
• Competency with word processing and presentation programs required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
• Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
