The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the applicable Director and in collaboration with the Program Teams, the incumbent is responsible for: * Educational program development for:

• Nursing staff including R.N.s, L.P.N.s, R.P.N.s.
• Support staff including U.A.s, N.A.s, U.C.s and/or applicable technicians.
• Teaching and learning activities.
• Nursing practice standards.
• Patient education development.
• Professional and Self Development.

Note: The priority and percentages of each of the above functions will vary throughout the year and possibly from year to year.Experience

• Must have a minimum of four years current acute ward level surgical nursing experience with demonstrated competency in Trauma, Vascular, Thoracic and Step Down or Progressive Care Unit/PACU practice.
• Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• Step Down Unit Training in surgery is preferred. If not trained, must be completed within 6 months of employment.
• Competency with word processing and presentation programs required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
• Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
