Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of The Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day Hospital, the nurse clinician provides clinical leadership and consultation for the Day Hospital and will provide a combination of direct patient contact for readiness & disposition planning and consult with the multi-disciplinary teams within the program. Facilitating connections to the appropriate community resource is necessary, acting as a patient advocate, and providing the Day Hospital team with enhanced resource supports. The nurse clinician will provide this service for children and adolescents, supporting the patient, families, and teams in managing disposition care. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent child & adolescent mental health experience. Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent development and family dynamics. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members. Understanding and experience with supportive counselling skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Strong organizational, independent problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Adaptive and innovative approach given the continuously changing environment essential. Computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Mental Health Certification is preferred (CMHPN). Course-work in Child & Adolescent Mental Health is preferred. Brain Story Certification Preferred. Collaborative Problem-Solving training preferred.
