Your Opportunity:
The Nurse Clinician provides leadership in nursing care for patients and families for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health and preventing illness, injury and disability. The NC facilitates the teamwork amongst the multi-disciplinary team. The NC is also responsible for collaborating care with many other disciplines, departments and physicians across the site. This involves working closely with Site Managers to facilitate the flow of patients within the Neurosciences Department and across the site.
Description:
As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) Current BCLS-HCP certification Graduation from a recognized nursing education program Previous Neuroscience experience Previous post-operative nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

3 to 5 years neuroscience RN experience 1 to 2 years post-operative nursing experience 1 to 2 years charge nurse experience Previous experience orientating new staff and/or preceptoring students Excellent time management and organizational skills CNA Neurosciences Certification Connect care experience
