Description:
As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of recent acute psychiatric experience including psychiatric emergency services that includes strong medical skills. Demonstrates strong leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care and providing safe quality patient and family centered care. Strong knowledge and understanding of current DSM-V, Mental Health Act, health law and behavioral safety planning. Exceptional communication and interpersonal / conflict management skills. Excellent, organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking, and skills; experience with change management. Capacity to function autonomously, and as an integral member of the interprofessional team. Ability to work in a high paced, stressful environment. Current NVCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous or current leadership experience. Preceptor or mentor experience.
