Position Summary: The Nova Scotia Before and After Program (NS BAP) facilitates a seamless day of childcare for children ages 4 - 12 who are attending school. It is a recreation-based program built on the principles of outdoor movement and play, intended to promote healthier and more active children. Childcare before and after the school day also helps build vibrant communities by enabling families to more fully participate in the workforce. The Support Staff will work at Wolfville School and report to the Team Lead and the Family Home Childcare Agency Director. This role assists with program delivery, supervision, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment for children.
Responsibilities:
oAssist with daily activities and programming for up to 30 children.
oSupervise children and ensure a safe, supportive environment.
oPrepare snacks and help children practice healthy habits.
oSupport conflict resolution and social-emotional learning.
oAssist Team Lead in site maintenance and safety.
oMaintain confidentiality of all family information.
Qualifications:
oEnthusiastic about working with children ages 4 - 12.
oExcellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
oStrong organizational and time management skills.
oExperience working with children is an asset.
oECE training or equivalent is an asset.
oFirst Aid & CPR certification required.
oCriminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
