Primary Purpose of the Function

As our Sales Manager your responsibility will be the management of both the internal and third-party sales activities for the North American region on behalf of Alcoa.

You will be managing the commercial relationships and collaborating with a variety of external customers and internal stakeholders. Responsible for key commercial decisions within the Non-Metallurgical Aluminas and Secondary Minerals team, your role leads short to medium term activities and provides key strategic input for the future commercial direction of the business.

2. Major activities/Key Challenges

  • Responsible for key commercial objectives, you will work to develop and execute NMA and Secondary Minerals sales of certain co-products and by-products (Secondary Minerals) and non-metallurgical alumina (NMA) products, working to improve book value whilst ensuring counterparty performance is executed per contractual expectations.
  • Initiate, develop and nurture commercial relationships with key external and internal customers.
  • Acting as the primary commercial interface in the North American region for AlcoaaEUR(TM)s sales peers, manufacturing sites and external customers, you will work seamlessly with the commercial operations teams to ensure efficient supply chain and sales strategy execution.
  • Maintaining balance between production or generation of Non-Metallurgical Aluminas and Secondary Minerals, and sales to external customers.
  • Acting as the principal internal contact for external customers and AlcoaaEUR(TM)s manufacturing sites in North America you will be working multi functionally with commercial, back-office support team and our operations to ensure smooth execution of responsibilities against the contractual supply agreement.
  • Working with Finance, Transportation, Customer Service and Supply Chain organizations on execution of sales contracts, ensuring the relevant forecast and plan targets are met or exceeded.
  • Operating cross functionally on various market intelligence activities you will align short and long-term product outlooks, supporting our Non-Metallurgical Aluminas and Secondary Minerals commercial strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with audit requirements and assuring we are in control of the necessary financial governance required for the management and execution of our commercial activities.

5. Basic or Minimum Qualifications
  • BacheloraEUR(TM)s degree in commercial, law, marketing, financial or technical discipline.
  • Significant and relevant commercial experience.
  • Knowledge of global alumina, aluminium industry and other market participants (carbon, cryolite, and cement industries) is highly desirable.
  • Written and spoken French as well as English, strongly preferred

5. Qualifications de base ou minimales
  • Baccalaureat en droit, marketing, discipline financiere ou technique. * Experience commerciale significative et pertinente. La connaissance de laEUR(TM)alumine globale, de laEUR(TM)industrie de laEUR(TM)aluminium et daEUR(TM)autres acteurs du marche (industries du carbone, de la cryolite et du ciment) est hautement souhaitable. * Franaais ecrit et parle ainsi que de laEUR(TM)anglais fortement preferee
