Security guards and workers in related security service occupations guard and implement security measures to protect property against theft, vandalism and fire; control access to establishments; maintain order and enforce regulations at public events and within establishments; perform screening of customers, and guests visiting the establishment.

We are seeking a dedicated and level-headed, Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and staff. This role requires keen observation skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond and effectively manage conflict and emergencies as required. As a Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in loss prevention and ensuring the overall safety of the premises.

Job Duties

Control access to establishments, operate security control-room equipment and patrol assigned areas to guard against theft, vandalism and fire Enforce regulations to maintain order and resolve conflicts and to monitor establishment activities Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed Issue passes and direct visitors to appropriate areas and check age identification of patrons.

Duties

Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity. Utilize surveillance equipment, including camera systems, to oversee property and report any incident. Maintain regular sweeps of the building, including facilities, washrooms, hotel and hospitality space to ensure the safety of customers, staff and property. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure safety protocols are followed. Respond promptly to alarms or incidents, assisting as needed and documenting events accurately. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary and provide support required. Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order within the premises. Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and security breaches.

Requirements

Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies. Familiarity with operating camera systems and other security equipment. Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff, visitors, and law enforcement personnel. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently. Must be physically fit to perform patrol duties that may require standing or walking for extended periods.

Pay: $18.59-$20.00 per hour
