Job Description

Latitude Child and Youth Services is a 4-bed residential treatment facility located in Oakville, Ontario. We provide services for children and youth who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).We are currently looking for a part-time (night shift) support worker. As a support worker you would be responsible for the following:

• Implementing assigned individual treatment and behaviour support plans
• Provide emotional and physical support to individuals who may require assistance with daily life skills, anger management, social skills and other areas of need
• Administer medications
• Complete daily logs, incident reports, medication charts and other legal documents
• Comply with all policies and procedures as established by the agency and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Helping clients with daily hygiene routines
• Completing household chores
• Adhering to Health and Safety standards
• Interacting professionally and effectively with co-workers, parents and other professionals

Qualification Requirements

• Child & Youth Worker/Social Service Worker/Developmental Service Worker or a diploma in a related field combined with a minimum of 12 months working experience
• Experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an asset, but willing to train the right person
• Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviours (UMAB) an asset, but not required, as training will be provided
• Provide clearance under the Criminal Reference Check program for Vulnerable Persons
• Pre-employment medical certificate with updated immunizations
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Ability to work shift work
• Valid Ontario G class driver's license in good standing and access to own vehicle
• Have a solid command of the English language and the ability to complete formal documentation
