We are currently operating out of our third production facility in North Toronto that has excellent TTC access and have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our organization and gain experience in warehouse and operations management. Production Shift Supervisor: The Bakery Production Shift Supervisor contributes to the success of the operations by meeting or exceeding company standards, policies, and procedures, including, but not limited to: products are produced on time, ensuring product and food quality excellence, maintaining high quality standards, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards. Responsibilities:
Ensure equipment is set up properly, and all parts are accounted for and handled carefully.
Ensure each line is set up with optimal number of employees with minimal non-value added activity.
Ensure all products are prepared according to weight and quality specifications at all times.
Actively motivate and lead employees.
Organize work by assigning specific job tasks, delegating duties and ensuring employees are performing in a consistent and efficient manner.
Follow FEFO inventory control is followed.
Follow Quality assurance procedures and policies, ensuring employees adhere to GMP and HACCP rules.
Report quality issues or food safety deviations.
Maintain a safe environment for everyone, free from environmental hazards.
Report production-related information regarding waste, labor utilization and equipment malfunctions to Management.
Ensure all production record keeping is completed and submitted at the end of each shift.
Ensure all WIP and finished products are stored at the right temperature and in the correct storage area.
Supervisor sanitation team and ensure the plant is clean and organized at the end of shift.
Report employee performance issues to Management.
Work with team members on the lines when necessary.
Motivate employees to finish production on time.
Qualifications
Must have good written and verbal communication.
Be able work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to troubleshoot and come up with solutions to keep production going.
Must be a team player and help employees with set up and production.
Flexibility to work over-time when necessary.
Working Conditions:
Position is very physical.
Position involves standing all day.
Position requires maintaining a clean environment at all times.
3 Years Food Production experience required.
Bakery experience an asset.
May need to work in the oven room or freezers at times.
