Basic Purpose:



Under the direction of the Rooms Manager, the Night Auditor will be the Ambassador of guest satisfaction involving being actively engaged in anticipating and delivering lively guest experiences during the overnight shift. The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring that exceptional service is provided by problem solving concerns, ensuring effective communication and follow up as required with various guests and departments.

Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):



Perform the duties of a Guest Services Agent in addition to the below:

Prepare, check, and correct room rate variances by conducting thorough audits

Ensure wake-up calls are set for the morning and check the control sheet to ensure accuracy

Prepares, verifies and balances daily charges for all departments to customer folios, master & house accounts

Runs the nightly processing sequence to reset systems for the next days' use

Prepares and transmits credit card deposits

Review all credit card vouchers for proper imprints, authorization, ad correct amounts

Distribute reports to the applicable departments

Balance the rooms audit

Record and balance staff and house charges

Keep team informed of all problems, emergencies and unusual matters of significance

Adheres to all established credit and inventory control procedures

Balances the guest ledger postings to the restaurant audit guest ledger

Audits, records and balances food & beverage income postings and charges

Present statement of charges to departing guests and receive payment

Monitors customer accounts to ensure adherence to hotel credit limits by completing high balance report and verify accuracy of registration information

Identify and record special billing instructions and notify Finance

Improve timeliness of cash flow by adhering to all established credit and inventory control procedures

Minimize loss of revenue by adhering to all established credit and inventory control procedures

Ensure the security of keys, company information, guest information, the hotel and guest rooms at all times

Report unsafe work conditions, areas requiring repair or suspicious person to the Department Head

Understand and practice the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers' instructions

Be aware of the action to be taken in the event of an emergency such as fire in accordance with procedures

Treat each individual with respect and fosters a cooperative, productive, positive and respectful work environment

Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner

Assist with team member orientation and training as required

Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform presentation and personal hygiene

Attend meetings as required and recognize the importance of contributing new ideas and initiative to the overall success of the operation

Communicate and cooperate effectively with all departments

Assist coworkers where necessary

Additional duties such as assisting with laundry, washing dishes and preparing and setting up the breakfast buffet area

Ensuring breakfast items are replenished and beverages, condiments, and other supplies are in place

Communicate breakfast offerings, hotel and city information to guests

Provide feedback regarding guest comments about quality and variety of breakfast items

Provides a favorable image of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts and the Brand to the public by consistently demonstrating SilverBirch Values (Engagement, Quality, Performance, Integrity and Growth) and Brand Values

Other related duties and projects as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:



Excellent guest service

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Strong computer and telephone correspondence abilities with previous experience using Microsoft such as Word and Excel

Highly organized, able to multi-task and be detail oriented

Works well under pressure and without supervision

Able to perform well in a fast-paced environment

Energetic, honest, self-motivated and flexible

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people

Reliable, punctual and dependable

Strong teamwork skills

Able to sell the services of the hotel

Working Conditions:



Normal office working conditions Lifting of supplies, material and collateral. May include long periods of standing Evening, weekend and holiday hours are a requirement of this position

Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):



Previous hotel front desk or accounting experience preferred

1 to 2 years of experience in branded or full service hotel

Ability to use standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office, and hotel systems - Delphi

1 year previous guest service experience is required

Diploma in hospitality is an asset

Must have ProServe Certification

Ability to communicate verbally and written in English

Pay: $22.40 per hour
