As a Project Coordinator for the Newcomer Employment Champions Program (NEC), you\xe2\x80\x99ll be at the forefront of empowering employers to successfully hire, onboard, and retain newcomers. This role is all about creating meaningful connections, from recruiting new employers to join NEC, to collaborating with various partners to ensure newcomers are matched with the right opportunities. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with community partners and be a key player in organizing events that promote the program and its mission. This position allows you to blend your passion for community building with your skills in project coordination, all while contributing to the YMCA\xe2\x80\x99s broader goals of diversity and social inclusion. You will be supported by a dynamic team and report directly to the Employment Supervisor.Responsibilities

  • Recruit new employers to join the NEC program and assist them in finding necessary training and resources.
  • Collaborate with SSELT, Skills Launch, and Employment Liaisons to connect employees with employers.
  • Plan and execute NEC events, including employer meet-ups, group interviews, and engagement activities.
  • Present at conferences, manage promotional booths, and participate in relevant working groups like SJLIP and the Job Developers Network.
  • Conduct research on newcomer retention and employment in the region.
  • Develop and maintain online training modules, providing assistance to facilitators on platforms like Thinkific.
  • Maintain agreements and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to funders and management.
  • Support general YMCA operations, including events and outreach initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in business analysis, project coordination, or coaching.
  • Degree in Social Sciences, Business, HR, or Communications/Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and training development software (e.g., Zoom, Thinkific).
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving, and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Knowledge of the Saint John Region Labour Market is a plus.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check
