One of our telecommunication clients is looking for a Network Specialist (GOC Reliability Eligibility, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, Avaya) Length: 1 year+ contract with possibility of extension Location: Ottawa, ON (Remote) Hours of Work: 7.5 hours to 13 hours per day Travel Requirements: None Business Unit: TSBT - Business & Enterprise Services Assignment or involvement in working directly or indirectly in a project for the Government of Canada: YES ROLE MANDATE: Project details: Service Assurance for Government accounts Selling point for the role: High profile contract with lots of visibility The primary responsibilities of the Network Specialist include providing support for problem resolution for WAN/LAN technologies. Supported technologies will include Cisco WAN/LAN, Avaya Blue (Nortel), Alcatel, Juniper switches, routers, DHCP, ATM, and DNS. This is a front-line 7X24 technical support role including working with customers, other technical support personnel, and management systems to support problem resolution. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

• Support complex WAN/LAN/Legacy PBX incidents for high-profile dedicated clients in a 7X24 Network Operations Centre
• Provides technical and process support to internal departments and/or external customers by:

1. responding, resolving, and/or escalating network and/or client issues within the contracted time frame. Proactively engage next-level support teams as appropriate 2. may consult with internal and/or external customers and peers to review outages, remedial changes, customer-caused network issues, etc.

• Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing project requirements which may involve providing input into the technical design
• Investigates and considers alternatives to develop innovative solutions for the network infrastructure, network monitoring capabilities, procedures and processes
• Responsible for delivering service levels as per contractual obligations as detailed in SLA
• 24/7 scheduling flexibility in a secure in-office environment

MUST-HAVE SKILLS:

• GOC Reliability - Candidates who are "eligible" to apply after they receive the job offer are also welcome
• Cisco CCNP or CCIP, Juniper JNCIS, Alcatel-Lucent NRS 2 or Cisco CCNP Voice, Avaya ACS
• Presentation, process understanding and gap analysis; Systematic troubleshooting methodology, written and verbal communications, time management, prioritization
• Investigates and considers alternatives to develop innovative solutions for the network infrastructure, network monitoring capabilities, procedures, and processes
• Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementation of project requirements which may involve providing input into the technical design
• Responsible for delivering service levels as per contractual obligations as detailed in SLA
