NOW HIRING: Network Operations Technician LOCATION: Centennial Auto Group - Summerside & Charlottetown, PEI HOURS: Full Time, permanent. Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week. (Weekend availability when required). This position may require some after hours and weekend scheduling. The individual will need to be on call on a predetermined schedule.
COMPENSATION: Competitive wages ranging from $26.00-$31.00/hr. based on skills and experience
THE PERFECT FIT: You are a technical professional with experience in implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT systems. You have extensive knowledge of computer hardware/software and a keen interest in new and upcoming technologies. An ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer service, taking ownership of all IT related issues.
COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have experience using VLANs and layer-2 protocols.
- Working knowledge of both IPv4 and IPv6, Layer 2 switching, routing, and subnetting.
- Familiarity with command line interfaces and Windows operating systems.
- A preferred candidate will have experience with Cisco security, routing and switching equipment.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and data protocols.
- Patching and termination of Network Cables.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace, Office 365 products and management.
- Knowledge of VMWARE and Hyper-V Virtualization environments.
- Windows Server & Active Directory setup & configuration as well as troubleshooting.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Submittal of time for all work performed throughout the day.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Good documentation skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Personable, strong communicator.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours when needed.
- Participate and engage in company and assigned team meetings.
- Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
- Two or three year college diplomas in Computer Engineering \xe2\x80\x93 Networking or Telecommunications Systems or equivalent would be considered an asset.
JOB TASKS:
- Assisting in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and ticket triage of VoIP, network appliances, software, hardware and data services.
- Responsible for resolving tickets escalated to the internal helpdesk, and documenting the resolution
