Position Details



We currently have an opening in our Network Operations Team, reporting to the General Manager.

Full-time, forty (40) hours per week with opportunities for overtime available Regular hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday to Friday
Rotational on-call support, and overnight maintenance (between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM) is required

As a member of the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, layout, repair, maintenance, and optimum performance of all network components and services.

In this role, you'll support planning, design, analyzing, and providing technical support. Additional responsibilities include conducting research and evaluation of network technologies and recommending purchases of network equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and will provide exceptional internal and external customer service to support our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Responsible for the design, configuration and implementation of the systems and network equipment that create and support the products that Mitchell Seaforth Offers

Responsible for the proper design, installation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure and new products and services

Reviewing/creating documentation including network drawings and training other staff to work with tools provided

Implementation of services

Escalated Troubleshooting

Software Updates and network security measures of relevant systems

Proof of Concept testing of new systems and production roll out

Development of new services and technologies.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

To be considered for the role:



A College or University diploma or degree in a related discipline is preferred. High School Diploma will be considered with demonstration of significant experience.

Valid Class G Driver's License, clean drivers abstract and access to reliable transportation

Capacity to learn complex concepts and apply them in real world situations demonstrated through education or work experience

Certifications in Cisco CCIE Service Provider (CCIE) or Juniper Service Provider Routing and Switching (JNCIE-SP) are not required but considered an asset.

Project and vendor management experience preferred

Experience supporting multi-vendor technologies across edge, access and core networks preferred

Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals including but not limited to application transport, Routing protocols, Switching, Trunking, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, IP, Ethernet, Optical, GPON, DWDM, CWDM, LAN/WAN, Multicast, ABR, SRT, HLS, Wi-Fi Access points, ACL's, DOCSIS 3.1 as well as DHCP and email client services.

Responsible for maintaining a broad level of hardware, software, cloud and network security measures knowledge covering all equipment and technologies managed by the department

Responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge in specific areas as designated by the Supervisor and Manager

Knowledge of vendors utilized, including but not limited to Juniper, Cisco, Dell vSphere, Proxmox Cable OS, WISI, Harmonic, Hitron, and Arris.

Ability to learn new products from new vendors rapidly

Network Diagramming proficiency

Shared responsibility for optimizations to control costs and maximize network performance

Excellent trouble shooting skills

Understanding of how to do an in-depth Protocol Analysis

Requires good communication skills interacting with persons with various levels of technical skills and knowledge

Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
