We are currently looking to hire a Network Manager to join our team! Tasks will include:

  • Provide technical advice for network and infrastructure specifically pertaining to, but not limited to existing networks under system administration and management.
  • Liaise with architects and designers via the Project Lead, to align network development efforts pertaining to system admin, management and infrastructure in accordance with network policy and procedure requirements.
  • Advise staff via the Project Lead (PL), on problem reports, enhancements and associated designs to be considered as part of maintaining a secure/stable network posture for present and future planned networks.
  • Advise the PL on work priority to ensure a stable and robust secure network posture are maintained.
  • Implement approved high value network enhancements as directed by the PL.
  • Under PL direction, participate and advise in technical investigation for improving the network management and operating posture or with regard to any possible degradation of the operating posture.
  • As directed by the PL, implement network upgrades and repairs, and assist on security qualification activities.
  • Provide advice in the field of system security theory and application.
  • Advise and assist the PL in representing the directorate regarding network management and operations at various forums as required.
  • Review Change Requests and associated systems engineering activities and provide advice to the PL on impact and technical feasibility/impact on the network management and operations.
  • As directed by the PL, participate in Steering Committees, Architecture Working Groups and Planning Sessions.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the PL for the roll out transition of new network capability.
  • As directed by the PL, provide the staff with support and advice on network management and operational planning, fielding, training, maintenance, evolution and project management.
  • Work with other network management personnel, participate in scheduled network security patching, vulnerability scans and resolution.
  • Support and particulate in networks trials and exercises


Qualifications
  • Must have completed College Diploma or University Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; and/or relevant degree/diploma
  • Must have 3+ years’ of demonstrated Network Manager experience
  • Must have 2+ years’ planning, installing, supporting and implementing network architectures;
  • Must have 2+ years’ Windows Server system administration/support experience
  • Must have 2+ years’ preparing and implementing network policies and procedures;
  • Must have 2+ years’ supporting Internet services (e.g. web servers, ftp servers, etc);
  • Must have 2+ years’ gateway, bridge and router support experience
  • Must hold a valid Federal Government Secret clearance and be eligible for the Controlled Goods Program. (ADGA will process)
The following will be considered assets
  • 2+ years’ managing TCP/IP, Network file system, and name servers
  • 2+ years’ SQL Server Administration and SMS Server Administration experience
  • 2+ years’ managing network personnel and Networking security
