The Opportunity:

Network and Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of eCapital's network systems, including data center routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networks, voice, and AWS/Azure cloud networking resources. This is a key position within the Infrastructure Operations department, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager. This position will provide services for our internal and external customers in a hybrid cloud model. The Network and Cloud Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems.

Network:

  • Expert knowledge in designing and deploying dynamically scalable, fault-tolerant on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-based networks that are highly available and highly reliable in support of a migration effort for existing applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain all aspects of the network environment, including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless networks, and network security.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including Palo Alto, WatchGuard, Cisco firewall, Cisco switches, and Cisco wireless networking. Proven experience in these areas is a must.
  • Develop and maintain tools to enhance network visibility and automation for on-premise and cloud (AWS). Aid in migrating production workloads from on-premise to the cloud (AWS).
  • `ly support the completion of cybersecurity-related activities in pursuit of the organization's cybersecurity goals.
  • Design, implement, administer, document, and support all network devices within eCapital's corporate networks.
  • Establishes and maintains systems to secure and control deployed technologies.
  • Supporting systems, including PBXs, IP Platforms, Voice Mail Systems, and applications to include but not limited to Unified Messaging, and Collaboration tools, with the primary focus on the Telecom product line. (Telecom HQ Servers, DVS, Mobility, Edge Gateways, hardware, and virtual VoIP and trunk switches)
  • Monitors for compliance and enforces policies outlining acceptable use of company systems, assets, and information resources.
  • Ensure redundancy and stability of all critical network devices.
  • Participate in the administration and maintenance of the network monitoring and management systems, including configuration management and network health checks.
  • Perform network assessments, security audits, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Document all network infrastructure and update documentation as changes are made.
  • Support system implementations, modifications, and enhancements to identify security gaps and prepare action plans to address.
  • Support regular patch upgrades and major technology upgrade initiatives, examining defensive systems and provide reports on test results.
  • Communication with stakeholders and users as required, keeping them informed of incident progress and notifying them of planned changes or outages.
  • Field, review, and resolve network issues escalated through the ticketing system.
  • Research and development for key IT infrastructure and strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent expertise or CCNA, CCNP, VCA, Mitel Certification is required.
  • Proven and established SD-WAN experience
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty (has or is willing to get it)
  • 3+ years of network experience in switching, routing, firewalls, SIP/VOIP and wireless networks.
  • Experience in implementing converged networks to include VoIP, VTC and QoS methods
  • Experience working with highly productive IT teams; strong interpersonal skills; team player.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal/customer service skills are essential.
  • Proven Experience with Palo Alto firewall, Cisco catalyst, Cisco nexus switch, Cisco Meraki,
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, including packet inspection/protocol analysis using packet analyzers for troubleshooting, is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding and troubleshooting capability of L2/L3 protocols (ARP, HSRP, VRRP, STP, BGP, VRF, OSPF, VPC).
  • Expert understanding of application protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH.
  • Knowledge and design abilities of security concepts such as NAT/PAT, IPSEC, SSL, DDoS, IP Spoofing, etc.
  • Proven experience working with the following network and security appliances/vendors:
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto, WatchGuard)
  • Cisco, Dell, and HP IOS & NX-OS based routers & switches.
  • Cisco Meraki wireless technology support and implementation.
  • ValoCloud SDWAN implementation and support.
