The CNIO will lead the way in transforming healthcare as a business owner for the provincial Clinical Information System (CIS) Consolidation project, the most exciting and impactful health transformation project in New Brunswick\xe2\x80\x99s history.   • Bachelor of Nursing degree with current licensure or eligibility for registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Nursing, Informatics, Healthcare or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10+) yeas of experience as a practicing Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
  • A minimum of eight (8+) years of experience in a senior leadership role
  • Possess a valid driver license and ability for some travel within the province
Proficiency in both Official Languages of New Brunswick (English and French) is a definite assetWhat you will doKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible and accountable for the development and execution of strategic clinical informatics plans, policies, and procedures that support efficiency and effectiveness for clinicians and patient services.
  • Championing the informatics strategic vision and representing nursing, allied health professionals, and clinical support staffs in the acquisition, implementation, and ongoing support of technology solutions that are used in the provision of patient care.
  • Responsible and accountable for clinical operational readiness planning and activities to ensure leaders and clinicians are ready for operational process and technology system changes required for successful implementation of a provincial CIS.
  • Responsible for the identification of operational and educational impacts associated with the implementation of technology solutions and accountable for the development and implementation of appropriate engagement, change, and training strategies for nursing, allied health professionals, and clinical support staffs.
  • Responsible and accountable for the management and oversight of nursing- and allied health-based CIS content, including orders, order sets and clinical documentation.
  • Collaborating with provincial health stakeholders in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of clinical standards, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that can be leveraged to optimize heath system efficiency and reduce variance in care processes.
  • Responsible and accountable for the development and implementation of metrics for nursing, allied health professionals, and clinical support staffs for the training, adoption, and usability for clinical systems and analytics solutions.
  • Leading and/or participating in clinical advisory groups for the Consolidated CIS project and other clinical informatics initiatives.
  • Responsible and accountable for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality management and compliance with relevant clinical information standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensuring ongoing knowledge of technology advancements in the health sector for nursing, allied health, and clinical support services, developing recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflows and systems.
  • Maintaining ongoing knowledge of all national and provincial regulatory requirements that affect patient care and hospital operations requiring updates or enhancements to existing information technologies or the implementation of new technology solutions.
