If this interests you, Our client is currently seeking a Project Manager to join their team in a remote capacity.

This is a full-time position offering competitive wages, extended health benefits (medical/dental/vision) and vacation.

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Manage natural resource projects and assist the general manager, HSE manager, and other senior management in planning and coordinating field work.
\xc2\xb7 Develop a workplan that identifies and sequences activities to successfully complete projects.
\xc2\xb7 Determine the resources (time, money, personnel, equipment etc.) required to complete the project and communicate to general manager.
\xc2\xb7 Obtain qualified consultants to work on projects as appropriate (complete/manage sub-contracts).
\xc2\xb7 Review quality of work completed with project teams on a regular basis to ensure project standards are met.
\xc2\xb7 Review the project schedule with management and other staff that will be affected by project activities, revise the schedule as required to ensure successful completion.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variances to senior management (ensure project financial records are up to date) and submit \xe2\x80\x9cProject Completion Checklists\xe2\x80\x9d to the finance department.
\xc2\xb7 Client and stakeholder management.
\xc2\xb7 Work with business development team to identify new business opportunities and potential clients.
\xc2\xb7 Write and review interim and final reports, ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget and to the desired quality level.
\xc2\xb7 Conduct field assessments and travel for work as required.
\xc2\xb7 Promote a strong safety culture and work collaboratively within the client\xe2\x80\x99s corporate culture.

Requirements

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Natural Resource field. PBio or RPBio designation is considered an asset.

\xc2\xb7 Project Management experience- min 5 years. PMP designation is considered an asset.

Skills and Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities (i.e., wildlife assessments, bird surveys, water quality, fisheries inventories/ salvage, environmental monitoring/inspection)
  • Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, and environmental discipline leads.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Ability to conduct strenuous field work and willingness to travel for work and stay in remote accommodations as needed.
  • Proficiency in the operation of field equipment is an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
