Job Description

The Nanaimo News Bulletin is hiring for a Circulation Clerk/Administrative Coordinator. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day operational tasks related to the distribution of the Nanaimo News Bulletin, Ladysmith Chronicle and Chemainus Valley Courier. The successful candidate will be working in the News Bulletin office in Nanaimo, working alongside our Circulation Manager.

This position offers 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday (no weekends). Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following areas:


Acting as the first point of contact for clients by phone and at the front counter Handling and monitoring carrier related questions, concerns and matters that may arise Handle customer issues, for instance missed papers, vacation stops and starts, delivery instructions; mostly phone calls and emails, but occasional face to face conversations Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently Booking incoming obituaries in a timely and accurate manner Assisting the Circulation Manager and Sales Department with other tasks when required

Requirements:




Excellent communication and organizational skills Computer knowledge, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook A Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory

Start date: As soon as possible.



Expected hourly rate: $18.00
