Job Description


Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a NA Region Franchise Quality Lead, Canada. This position will be located at either the Markham or Guelph, Ontario, Canada J&J office locations with frequent travel between. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of a new entity within New Consumer Health and your employment would be governed by New Consumer Health’s employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. Position Summary:

  • Responsible for oversight of End-to-End Franchise Quality Team including Research & Development Quality & Compliance (R&D Q&C) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for all Franchises
  • Provide Leadership during Design, Development, and Launch Activities
    • Responsible for Product Quality Strategy
    • Drive product alignment in Q&C across regions & functions related to global product & process validation strategy (CPV), specification and test method harmonization strategy
    • Serve as the interface to all other regional QA functions during launch and E2E product management
    • Support Due Diligence and Historical Product Assessments for Licensing & Acquisition and Product Licensing Initiatives
  • Oversee and/or provide input to quality activities related to new products and project changes including change controls
    • Provide direction for continuous improvement of established products, during lifecycle management, growth innovation and value creation exercises
  • Represent Quality & Compliance on Regional Quality Leadership Team, Canadian Commercial Leadership Team, Global Franchise Quality Leadership Team, and Regional E2E Supply Chain Extended Leadership Team
    • First point of contact for Regional Franchise Leaders, E2E Supply Chain and Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Teams
  • Lead resolution of regional issues and represent Q&C as a member of issue response teams and during post market events; consensus member on Regional QRB on behalf of quality assurance
  • Provide Q&C input during communication strategy discussions
  • Serve as Q&C representative during strategy and due diligence activities of acquisitions and divestitures. Lead/assist in integration efforts for new acquisitions
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships in support of compliance and business goals
  • Support/Provide/Ensure One Quality Voice and two-way communication between the regional and global teams
  • Provide Q&C support on complex regional/global projects
  • Support Quality recommendations for siting / sourcing / network decisions within the region and in coordination with Global Franchise Quality Leads and MAKE Q&C partners

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic quality direction to the Regional Franchise, MS&T, R&D and Supply Chain in support of innovation agenda/NPI, commercial products, acquisitions, and divestures; leads resolution of regional issues, coordinates the issue response and market actions.
  • Leads the Canadian R&D Q&C and Canadian PLM Franchise Quality Teams.
  • Provide quality performance reviews and consumer insights to regional franchise teams for improvement projects and NPI idea generation, CIP & value creation, continuous improvement.
  • Provide support during product risk assessments, guidance on regulations, classifications, compliance and Q&C strategy to business partners
  • Coordinates regional franchise quality work with global franchise quality leads with respect to all above points and establish E2E relationship with business partners.
  • Coordinates and possibly leads activities related due diligence, acquisition, divestitures projects; shape the integration process for acquired companies.
  • Deploy changes to commercial product based on Medical Safety Requirements or other key activities. Execute on projects related to sustainability and streamlining.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related discipline is required. MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Q&C Pharmaceutical, / Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or relevant experience is required
  • 5 years of People Management Experience is required
  • Understanding of regional and global regulatory requirements for Dietary Supplements/Cosmetics/OTC/Natural Health Products/Medical Device as per the franchise needs. An understanding of New Drug Development process, Technical Transfer, and Process Validation is required. Technical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of statistical tools/methodology, analytical and/or microbiological techniques, and drug processing preferred
  • Strong ability to motivate, lead, supervise and partner with people to accomplish project work objectives. Experience leading complex projects. Outstanding written and verbal communication, and influencing/negotiating skills
  • Computer literate with expertise in word and spreadsheet applications

Other: This position may require up to 10- 20% travel domestically and internationally. Expected weekly travel between the Markham and Guelph sites.
