Atlantic Aqua Farms is now recruiting candidates for the fall mussel socking season. The temporary mussel socking technician positions will be located at our Malpeque, Morell and Georgetown wharf facilities. This is your opportunity for 8-12 weeks of work with an anticipated start date of early October.

A day for you would start at 7 am with an 8 -12-hour shift. The socking is done inside a building however the environment is cool with water running, keeping the mussels fresh. Successful candidates must dress warm and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. Standing for lengths of time at your station is required to perform the task of filling mussel socks. Your duties include working safely in a team environment under the direction of your supervisor. Training provided on site.

Our ideal candidates for these positions would possess:

Good understanding and verbal communication of the English language

Able to stand for extended periods of time and do repetitive tasks in cool environment

Follow safety procedures

Legally eligible to work in Canada

Arrive on time and work 8-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week

Follow directions from supervisor with willingness to learn

We offer:

19.73 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided

Wages paid out weekly
