JOB OVERVIEW:
-The Deckhand will perform various tasks onboard our mussel boats in the harvesting, planting and growing of mussel crop.
This job is a seasonal position that runs from April to December.
Schedule is typically Monday to Friday (40-50 hours per week). Weekends are required as work demands.
Work is physically demanding and onboard a mussel boat in outdoor weather conditions.
DUTIES & TASKS:
Deckhands are responsible to work in a small team environment on board a mussel boat and report to the Boat Operator. The duties pertain to all tasks involved onboard in the planting, harvesting, spraying, and managing the farm mussel crop.
QUALIFICATION:
Good understanding and verbal communication in English
Able to stand and do repetitive tasks in a boat
Follow safety procedure
Legally able to work in Canada
Reliable attendance is a requirement
Follow directions from onboard supervisor
Physically demanding
Salary & Benefits:
Competitive Hourly Wage 19.73 to $21.00 per hour plus 4 % vacation pay
up to 55 hours per week
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided
Wages paid weekly
