Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Order Picker to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are accurately selected and prepared for shipment. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to operate various types of equipment safely and effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Accurately harvest and prepare mushroom orders for shipment according to customer specifications. Sort and grade mushrooms based on size, shape, color, and quality to ensure top market value. Hand-harvest mushrooms with care to avoid damage and maintain product integrity. Trim, clean, and shape mushrooms as needed for packaging and sale. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the growing and packing areas to meet food safety standards. Operate and maintain cultivation equipment, climate control systems, and other farm machinery. Monitor mushroom crops for signs of pests, diseases, or environmental stress, and report any concerns. Inspect harvested mushrooms for quality and readiness before packaging. Perform heavy lifting and proper handling of growing materials such as substrate, trays, and packaging supplies. Keep workspaces organized and ensure proper storage of tools, materials, and harvested products. Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily harvesting and packaging targets while following safety and hygiene protocols. Assist with inventory management by conducting stock counts of materials and supplies and reporting discrepancies.

Requirements

Previous experience in warehouse distribution or as an order picker is preferred. Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures, as well as heavy lifting techniques. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in order fulfillment. Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including overtime during peak periods. Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards in accordance with food safety practices.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
