Position Summary:
Harvester is responsible for picking mushrooms, properly maintaining mushroom quality and assisting disease control associates.
1. General Duties:
Pick mushrooms and place into trays or boxes
Meet requirements for size, weight, cleanliness, stem length and overall condition. The goal is to maximize quality and production and minimize bed damage.
Working at heights on a trolley, or bending to floor level to pick mushrooms
Use of clean, sharp harvesting or paring knife to cut mushrooms
Analyse the quality of the mushrooms to ensure meeting size expectations
May carry and stack product as required
General hygiene practices: cleaning aisles, cleaning tools and equipment, squeegee, etc.
2. Leadership & Code of Conduct
Embrace and support the Highline culture and values, acting as a brand ambassador at all times
Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity
Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times
3. Safety:
Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor
Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the supervisor immediately
Cooperates in the Early and Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation.
4. Food Safety:
Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) as trained
5. Quality:
Adheres to all quality standards per customer specifications.
Ensures mushrooms are harvested within customer specifications and in a manner that reduces or eliminates knock-overs, ensures clean edges and product quality as instructed by the supervisor, coordinator or Quality Department
Qualifications:
Eligible to work in Canada.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Previous harvesting experience an asset.

Hours of Work:
5 - 6 days/week
Average of 30 - 60 hours a week
Public holidays/Weekends as scheduled
Earnings & Benefits:
$17.20 per hour or piece work, whichever is greater
