The North Bay Museum is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Digital Development Intern to join our team. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital development, marketing, and working in a non-profit museum environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong research, writing, and organizational skills, along with a passion for learning and leadership. This role is perfect for individuals interested in developing their expertise in social media, website development, and exhibit design while working in a museum environment. The intern will also work with the North Bay Heritage Railway & Carousel to set up and run a new website and social media channels.
Responsibilities
Create website for Heritage Railway and Carousel using Squarespace and update as required
Assist Heritage Railway & Carousel volunteers with setting up and maintaining social media channels
Work with North Bay Museum staff to create digital enhancements to existing displays using QR codes and the museum's online database and website
Take photos and complete scanning projects to help enhance the museum's online database
Assist with creation on mini audio tour to increase accessibility of displays
Set up social media campaigns for both the North Bay Museum and Heritage Train & Carousel
Provide reports on results and recommendations for both the North Bay Museum & Heritage Railway and Carousel
Desired Qualifications
Post secondary degree or diploma connected to graphic design, marketing, communication, business, museum studies, or other related discipline
Demonstrated experience with marketing, graphic design, social media and/or website design an asset.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
Good research skills with attention to detail
Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills
Internship Requirements
This internship is grant funded, and as a result the intern must meet the requirements below:
be unemployed or underemployed youth (person aged 30 and under);
have graduated within the last three years with a degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;
be legally entitled to work in Canada;
have not previously participated as a youth intern in any other federal or provincial internship program with pay for a period of six months or more; and
not be related to the directors, officers or managers of the organization.

Contract length: 18 months
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
