This new directive and related procedures outline the requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless unable to receive vaccination due to an accepted medical reason.   • Provide documentation to support vaccination status prior to a job offer
  • Participate in our rapid testing program and meet our vaccination deadlines for single-dose vaccine candidates

As a member of the Municipal Enforcement team, you will work both with a team and independently conducting enforcement and community engagement. You will also have the opportunity to offer assistance in using our parking systems and providing insight as to how the paid parking program benefits our community.


Position Overview: The Municipal Enforcement Officer serves the community of Canmore, residents and visitors, through highly visible educational and enforcement activities with an emphasis on parking. You will be responsible for performing community patrols in the town center, Quarry Lake, and along trails. This is a team environment that prompts independent work to enforce time limit parking, paid parking, resident parking, and other traffic and road use offenses; however, community engagement and public education are even bigger parts of this role. You will implement positive ticketing initiatives, and participate in public education drives, while also working collaboratively with other Town departments. Confidentiality and discretion are significant parts of this role, as well as the ability to represent our organization in a positive manner.


Our paid parking program runs 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm, including weekends and holidays. It will be expected that the successful candidate works all statutory holidays: Canada Day (July 1st); Heritage Day (August 7th); and Labor Day (September 4th). This role is 40hours/week, 8hours/day, on a 5-days on, 2 days off rotation.

Attributes: This is the perfect job for someone who wants to make a difference in our town. You must love working outdoors in any weather and interacting with the public. If you have great customer service experience, and the ability to exercise judgement and discretion, then this is the role for you. Above all, conflict resolution and de-escalation of complaints in a constructive and personable manner is essential. You are a personable, patient, and independent worker that possess the physical ability and keen interest to conduct multi-hour foot and bike patrols. The successful candidate must be able to walk an average of 10km/day, 50km/week; have a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License; provide an acceptable driving record; and a clear criminal record check.


Compensation:
  • Rate of Pay: $33.99/hour

  • Non-taxable, $75 Health Care Spending Account for each month of contract

  • 1 Sick Day for each month of contract
  • 1 unpaid vacation day for each month of contract (black out dates: long weekends)
