Intended for students with minimal prior musical knowledge, this survey course addresses a wide range of topics in the history, literature, aesthetics and notation of music, with emphasis on developing critical listening skills.
Position Requirements
Applicants must possess a MA or M.Mus degree, preferably in an area related to the position. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a doctorate degree in music. University teaching experience is preferred.
All applicants are required to provide details outlining how they will facilitate curriculum and pedagogy in a remote modality. Applicants are also required to provide details of their familiarity with Moodle (or other Online Learning Environment), and Zoom, both of which are required in the delivery of this course.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
MU 100-991 is currently scheduled as remote evening delivery on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1730-2015.
The in-person final exam will be the responsibility of the instructor.
