Job Description
The Department of Physics of the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Laboratory Instructor to be responsible for up to 4 web-based laboratory sections of Physics 1210 (Physics for Life Sciences I) during the Fall Semester. The work for this position will be completed online.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include:
- Familiarizing with online pre-set Physics 1210 experiments and making minor lab programming adjustments
- Communicating with students and answering online help forum messages
- Holding synchronous online help sessions
- Marking lab assignments submitted through Moodle and Google documents
- Coordinating Moodle-based activities and entering marks into the Moodle system
- Other duties as assigned by the course instructor
- B.Sc. in Physics, with a background in instructing introductory physics labs
- Experience evaluating physics laboratory undergraduate work is an asset
- Experience assisting or instructing physics labs at UPEI is an asset
- Experience with using and editing Moodle activities is an asset
