Job Description
The Murphy Laboratory in the Department of Biology requires a Laboratory Technician to assist with research projects applying proteomics and metabolomics to study breast cancer cell metabolism.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating multiple research projects related to cancer cell metabolism
- Performing and training graduate/undergraduate students to perform, proteomics and metabolomics
- Analysis of large-scale metabolomics and proteomics datasets
- Routine maintenance of cancer cell lines.
- Keeping accurate records of laboratory experiments, data, and inventory
- Aiding in the preparation of grant applications
- BSc. with a major in Biology or Chemistry
- Experience in performing basic molecular biology laboratory techniques such as Western blotting
- Previous experience in the collection and analysis of proteomics and metabolomics data
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience in training others a laboratory setting would be considered an asset
