MRG Live, Festivals & Events is in search of an operations and site logistics intern to join our team in the role of Operations Intern to work on large-scale public and corporate events.
The Operations Intern, provides direct support to our operations team to coordinate site logistics for the MRG Live team. In this position, you will assist in the development and execution of site logistics and coordination of details for our major festivals, including Khatsahlano Street Party, National Indigenous Peoples' Day, Pleasant Day Festival, Barnside Harvest Festival, Car Free Days Festivals, City of Surrey Special Events among others.
ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The MRG Group Internship Program is designed to provide you with practical skills, valuable experiences, and exposure to real-world scenarios in the Experience industry.
The program is structured to ensure that 80% of your time is dedicated to performing activities specific to their role, while the remaining 20% is allocated to job shadowing, skill development, and team projects across various businesses within the MRG Group.

In addition, The MRG Group owns and operates an events business, travel company, digital publication, and ticketing service Admit One. In 2021, the business expanded its presence into the US, signing its first venue deals with properties in New York and California later that year.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Operations team in coordinating site equipment and services (e.g. tents, power, fencing, furniture, washrooms, vehicle rentals, etc.)
Help research and gather supplier quotes ahead of events
Assist with estimating equipment needs by measuring site areas and reviewing site plans
Support in the creation or updating of event site maps
Work alongside the Producer to help organize timelines and maintain workback schedules for upcoming events
Assist in tracking equipment across multiple events using a master supply list
Help maintain and update the production schedule to keep the event on track
Aid in coordinating deliveries and pick-ups for on-site equipment during load-in and load-out
Help prepare trucking schedules and organize packing lists for each event
Support the marking of event sites, based on site maps
Assist with planning staff schedules for on-site roles and responsibilities
Help draft and distribute communication for vendors, suppliers, and other event partners
Support event safety planning documents and help communicate key safety information to stakeholders
Assist with preparing and distributing event information packages (e.g. maps, contacts, FAQs)
Attend production meetings, take notes, and follow up on assigned tasks
Assist with implementing waste management and sustainability initiatives at events
Help track supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation in database
Participate in post-event debriefs, offering observations on what went well and what could be improved
Contribute to a safe and positive environment for all crew members on-site
Take on various event-related tasks as needed to support successful execution
Support concerts operations as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Interest in event production, live events, or site logistics
Highly organized with great attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable with fast-paced, hands-on environments (including outdoor work)
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Availability to work some evenings and weekends, especially during event season
Experience with Adobe Illustrator or other design tools
Prior volunteer or work experience with events
Knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Asana, ConnectTeam)
Valid Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle
