The Event Operations Manager provides direct support for all site logistics for the MRG Events team. You will be involved in the development and execution of logistics and coordination for our major festivals, including Khatsahlano Street Party, Filberg Festival, National Indigenous Peoples' Day, Pleasant Day Festival, Barnside Harvest Festival, Car Free Days Festivals, and more.
The Fine Print:
Coordinate and book all site equipment and services (tents, power, water, waste, fencing, heating, furniture, porta potties, vehicles, etc.) and manage progress on-site.
Gather supplier quotes and provide to the Producer in a timely manner; estimate equipment needs accurately.
Design and develop event site maps using Adobe Illustrator and ensure proper site marking.
Develop and manage workback schedules, production schedules and master supply lists (MSL).
Coordinate delivery, pickup and on-site oversight of all event equipment; assist in trucking schedules and load-in/load-out communication.
Determine staffing needs and help build onsite staff schedules.
Collaborate on event safety planning, print/distribute event information and participate in all production meetings.
Develop, implement and oversee waste management plans.
Reconcile supplier and contractor invoices against budget.
Participate in post-event wrap-up meetings and provide feedback on successes and improvements.
Promote a culture of safety, manage crew food requirements and foster a positive team environment.
Work with the Crew Chief to manage staff onsite and maintain task lists.
Other tasks as required.
We are looking for someone with:
Proven experience in logistics and production, including on-site event management.
Strong organization, self-motivation and attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
Experience working collaboratively across teams.
Comfortable taking on independent projects and problem-solving creatively.
Proficiency with Slack, Email, Google Meet, and Phone communication.
Comfort driving a 5 Ton truck is considered an asset.
