Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Motor Dynamics Engineer will work within an integrated R&D engineering team and be responsible for driving the design, development, and implementation of new innovative scanning mechanisms as components of a wide range of high value, high-tech 3D imaging and surveying (lidar)products. This includes involvement in the full product life cycle of these electronic and opto-mechanical subsystems from concept, design, analysis and testing to production and implementation.

Manage the design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of scanning solutions

Understand requirements, and specifications of the required devices including functional, performance, environmental, reliability, etc.

Develop component and subsystem specifications including electronics

Development of material specifications, including optics, magnetics, bearings, etc.

Development of qualification test plans, acceptance test plans etc.

Develop test procedures and execute test plans

Support program design reviews, project status reviews, planning activities

Requirements:

Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 8-10 years of experience with opto-mechanical-electronic systems

Have extensive knowledge of motors and motor dynamics

Fluent in static and dynamic analysis tools that may include SolidWorks or others

Familiarity with galvo motors, hollow shaft motors, high-speed motors

Knowledge of optics and optical scanning technology

Hands on experience with balancing of high-speed rotating devices and balancing equipment

Analytical and precise, attention to detail

Ability to solve problems, work independently

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Excellent interpersonal skills to interact within a highly diverse, multidisciplinary team
