Key Responsibilities
System Design:
Design electrical control systems based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
Create detailed schematic diagrams (single-line diagrams, ladder logic, interconnection drawings) using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
Design physical layout drawings for enclosures, subpanels, and components.
Component Selection:
Research, select, and specify appropriate components (breakers, contactors, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, power supplies) based on electrical load, functionality, and environmental requirements.
Create detailed bills of materials (BOM) for procurement.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, including UL 508A, NEC, NFPA 79, and IEC standards.
Perform short-circuit current rating (SCCR) calculations and arc flash studies.
Prepare required documentation for UL certification and other regulatory approvals.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, OR an Associate's degree with significant relevant experience.
3+ years of experience in designing industrial control panels.
High proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is essential; experience with EPLAN or SolidWorks Electrical is a major plus.
In-depth knowledge of UL 508A standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Strong understanding of motor control principles (across-the-line starting, reduced voltage starting, VFD control).
Experience with component selection and sizing (wire, disconnects, overloads, transformers).
Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and other automation hardware is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
