Within a dynamic team, the motion and sound system software specialist is responsible for the modeling and test of vibrations, accelerations and ambient sounds in commercial and military aircraft simulators, in order to reproduce with high fidelity the environment in the real aircrafts. The role we are offering you:

  • Frequent opportunities to work on the flight simulators directly. (Even to fly!)
  • Analysis, design and integration of flight simulator sound and motion simulation models.
  • Frequency analysis of measured sounds and vibrations.
  • Design and implementation real-time simulation models for reproducing the various aircraft sound and vibration effects.
  • Subjective tuning of the sound and vibration effects with test pilots.
  • Direct interaction with the customer both at CAE and at the customer\'s site, internationally.
  • Preparation of flight plans for recordings in real aircrafts.
  • Periodic shift work and international travel (around 10% to 15% travel per year).
Our ideal candidate has:
  • Bachelors or master\'s in software, computer, electrical, mechanical, physics engineering, or similar domains.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming in a Windows environment.
  • Knowledge in the following areas is considered an asset: real-time programming, acoustic theory, digital signal processing (DSP), digital signal analysis (sampling theory, Fourier transform), vibrations and general digital audio technology.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills in order to manage many projects in parallel.
  • Good communication, spirit and teamwork skills.
  • Bilingual is an important asset.
  • Available to perform shift work and international travel from time to time.
CAE employees must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and in certain cases, ITAR requirements.
