The duties of a mosquito and tick technician, involve a range of tasks to control and prevent the spread of mosquitoes and ticks. Here are common responsibilities associated with this role:

• Inspection and Assessment:
• Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify potential breeding sites for mosquitoes and ticks.
• Assess the prevalence and distribution of mosquito and tick populations.
• Application of Pesticides:
• Apply approved pesticides and insecticides to control mosquito larvae and adult mosquitoes, as well as tick populations.
• Utilize appropriate equipment such as sprayers to distribute pesticides effectively.
• Tick Control Measures:
• Implement measures to control tick populations.
• Educate clients on tick prevention strategies and landscaping practices that deter ticks.
• Mosquito Habitat Management:
• Advise property owners on reducing mosquito breeding habitats, such as standing water sources.
• Collaborate with property owners to implement landscaping modifications that discourage mosquito breeding.
• Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of pest control activities, including pesticide applications, surveillance results, and customer interactions.
• Customer Interaction:
• Communicate with clients to address concerns, provide information on pest control measures, and offer guidance on preventive measures.
• Answer inquiries and educate clients on the importance of mosquito and tick control.
• Safety Practices:
• Adhere to safety protocols when handling and applying pesticides to minimize risks to both the technician, the public and wildlife.

Mosquito and tick technicians play a crucial role in protecting public health by managing and controlling the populations of these disease-carrying pests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
