The Mortgage Specialist will play an integral role in the development of quality mortgage opportunities through realtors, builders, renovation companies, associations, and groups to obtain new mortgage opportunities for Servus within an assigned territory.

The Mortgage Specialist will utilize their expert knowledge in mortgages and apply their technical expertise in the delivery of all mortgage related products/service, including High Ratio Mortgages, Conventional Financing, Construction, and Home Equity Line of Credit Mortgages This position supports our corporate brand by creating an environment in which our members feel at home, recognize our staff as knowledgeable, and maintain our image as a good corporate citizen.

In a nutshell, we are looking for a gutsy, smart, and driven professionals to act as a business ambassador and play a vital role in shaping member financial fitness, the growth and profitability of our credit union.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Present a professional, confident, and informed demeanor that appropriately represents the Servus Brand and Values
• Conduct a regular site call program to provide dealers with information and education on Servus' products and services to develop increased application volume
• Regularly attend referral network meetings - showcase yourself and Servus as an excellent partner for their purchasers
• Assess the quality and appropriateness of existing and potential business partners
• Prepare, complete, and submit mortgage applications through Credit Path and/or Filogix, as required
• Facilitate the transition of a mortgage approval through to funding
• Collect, compile, and analyze information to assess credit worthiness and inform recommendation
• Identify and prioritize suitable prospects to effectively develop and implement a value-added Business Development Strategy to acquire new referral relationships

Compensation for this position: Three Year Salary and Bonus Compensation Program that graduates to full commission pay structure. Year one base salary is $50,000 per annum.

Requirements:

To qualify, you'll need at least the following:

• 8+ years of proven experience with prospecting, sales, negotiation, and relationship development
• Strong mortgage lending and underwriting experience
• Professional experience in business development with previous sales experience required
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in business, finance, or related field is preferred

This position may require you to meet prospects at their convenience, evening, and weekend appointments. Flexible work hours including evenings and weekends as required, including open houses and trade shows.

The business may from time to time ask for branch and/or department support for special projects and/or areas experiencing staff shortages. All employees may be asked to volunteer to assist in areas of need during these times. These assignments could result in a change of hours, location, and/or travel.
