Job Description

Main responsibilities include, but are limited to:

  • Work from the employer's home
  • Care for well-being and physical and social development of children
  • Assist parents with regular, routine childcare
  • Assist with bathing and dressing as necessary
  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and sanitizing play areas, bedrooms, and toys
  • Assist with loading and unloading dishwasher
  • Launder children's clothing and linens
  • Oversee children's activities such as meals, rest periods and playtimes
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Supervise children's personal hygiene
  • Provide age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, readings, and outings
  • Accompany children to and from appointments
  • May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child
Wages: $18 per hour; Hours: 37.5 hours per weekEducation: Minimum of 1 year, post-secondary education and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience working with childrenSkills and Qualities: Calm, dependable, good interpersonal skills, and a mature attitudeAs COVID-19 and its variants are still a health threat to any persons who become exposed, extra attention must be paid to minimize, prevent, and protect all residents of the household. Adult family members are fully vaccinated. The candidate who will be offered employment will be expected to be (or agree to become) fully vaccinated. A criminal record check, proof of immunizations and vaccines are prerequisites for employment.
